Some other man’s lady

Poem because I’m falling for you

Don’t want to fall
for a woman as unobtainable as
the wind
whisking between my fingers
grasping for anything to
halt
this plummet

But
I will dive
head first
into the uncertainty of your arms
as long as I land
looking up
into your eyes
shimmering cinnamon
in the sun

Mr. Brooks

Mr. Brooks

This is an excellent movie, one of the best suspense thriller’s I’ve seen in a long time. The plot just got thicker and thicker as the story progressed. The ending left me wanting a sequel. I hope the writers decided to do another one. Better yet, would be a TV show based on the movie but only if Kevin Costner played the main character throughout. I never really like him as an actor until I saw this movie, which definitely showcased his talent.

Another ghazal attempt

Ghazal for Broken Records
for k.l.m

night creaks into day, bright sun burns my eyes
your morning text message first sight on my eyes

I tease you with texts about wasting your time
yet he wakes up everyday lucky looking into your eyes

you say he don’t deserve you, don’t ever treat you right
you still hop over to his house excitement in your bright eyes

don’t understand why he treat you the way he do
he drains you daily wringing tears from your eyes

so many others men out there who want you
but you act like only he’s visible to your eyes

I wonder if he’ll ever see what I see
when I stare back into your cinnamon eyes
